  WHAT WE DO

It started activity in 1993 in order to economically provide uninterrupted, high quality and reliable electric energy demanded by its partners. The first turbine unit has been established as 50 MW installed capacity, and with steam injection. In order to meet partners’ increasing power needs; in 1997 industry-type gas turbine with 38 MW capacity, in 1998 gas turbine with 43 MW capacity were installed, and in August 1999 Steam Turbine equipment with 43 MW capacity working with steam obtained from waste heat of three gas turbines was installed and put into operation.

In 2002, 2003 and 2004, 3 gas turbines with 46,5 MW power capacity were put into operation in order that the company possesses a good role in a competitive electricity market which is being formed in the country after the entry into force of the Electricity Market Law 4628 in February 2001, as well as, in order to fulfill its supply obligation towards the free consumers.  In addition, in  2003, electricity production and selling license was received from the Electricity Market Regulation Board for 10 years on 254,5 MW installed power capacity.

In our BİS ENERJİ Electricity Production plant, with the Steam Turbine which was put into operation in July 1999 and the present gas turbines, the Combined Cycle has been completed as a final projection and the installed power capacity of the Plant increased to 179,5 MW. The Electricity Market Regulation Board (EPDK), by accepting the company’s request for expansion by 182,5 MW,  gave the necessary license in order to reach the total installed capacity of 362 MW. With the expansion, 318,5 MW is actually working on site, and further, the manufacture and assembly of the 43-45 MW 2nd steam turbine and steam boilers finished and the 182,5 expansion project is now fully operated since 5 March 2007 .

1 GT with installed power of 48 MW was purchased in 2006 in order to be used as a spare for the production groups consisting of 2 blocks of the electricity production plant which has 410 MW installed power capacity. This gas turbine will be put into operation in cases where any failure, maintenance & repair, etc. arises in any of the 362 MW combined cycle plant groups which will work in 2 blocks, or in order to meet additional power demands.

Bis Enerji provides electricity power for the textile plants of NERGIS and BİSAŞ Groups which are located in Organized Industrial Zone, from its 34,5 kV Distribution Substation located in its plant; in addition, the energy demand of its 50 partners who are located out of the Organized Industrial Zone, as well as, of other free consumers, are met by using the energy transmission lines of TEİAŞ and TEDAŞ. Plants in the Organized Industrial Zone have independent energy transmission lines.

12 % of the produced net electricity is delivered to the partners in the Organized Industrial Zone,  88 % of the produced power is delivered to other nearly 50 partners which are located outside of the Organized Industrial Zone and to the customers who purchase electricity from the free market as free consumers; by paying system usage prices to TEİAŞ and TEDAŞ transmission lines and by meeting the losses. Consumption of our partners outside the Organized Industrial Zone are set off against the energy delivered to the system. Remaining part of the produced energy is sold to free consumers, Functionary Company or to market maker at a price determined by the bilateral agreements, pursuant to the Law 4628 and PMUM (MarketFinancialReconciliationCenter) rules.

Textile plants which are located in the Organized Industrial Zone are integrated plants with their synthetic yarn, cotton yarn, weaving and dying units. Before 1993, they suffered great losses due to power cuts. Therefore, they need high-quality and uninterrupted energy.
